There is good news for adults in New York, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Arizona as their states move toward legalizing online casinos. These states will join Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia in permitting online games of chance.
Despite strict regulations, gambling is one of the most popular and lucrative businesses on the internet. As a result, online wagering market projections indicate tremendous growth potential.

The United States online gambling market is expected to reach $7.61 billion by 2030. That reflects an increase of nearly $5 billion over its 2021 value.
Lets Gamble USA reports that most states ban games, wagers, or bets when the outcome depends on an element of chance. These popular online casino games include roulette, slot machines, blackjack, craps, poker, keno, baccarat, and more.
Based on research, it is obvious each state classifies online wagering types differently. For example:
- Adults in New York can bet on horse racing, sports, fantasy sports, and lottery, but not online casinos. Conversely, Delaware legalized online casinos, sports, poker, horses, and fantasy sports betting but does not have a lottery.
- Hawaii law prohibits all online gambling, whereas Michigan does not restrict adults from placing online bets.
Nonetheless, the United States online gambling market is booming. As state legislators see customer interest in online betting and freemium gaming continue growing, they may reconsider their positions. Moreover, based on industry growth predictions, more states will likely move to legalize online casinos.
